Using TallyBob means agreeing to what’s on this page. It is short on purpose.
It helps a group plan a trip and work out who’s owed what afterwards. You and the people on your trip enter what was spent; TallyBob does the arithmetic and shows the result.
It never holds, moves or transfers the money travelers owe each other. It is a record and a calculator, not a bank or a payment service. People settle up between themselves in Venmo, Zelle, Cash App, PayPal, Apple Cash or cash. If somebody does not pay you back, that is between you and them — we have no way to make it happen and no part in it.
The totals it shows are only as good as what people entered. Check them before anybody sends money.
Your first three trips are free. After that, each new trip costs a one-time $9.99, paid by whoever creates it. Nothing renews and nothing recurs. Everyone invited to a trip joins for nothing.
The person who paid can choose to split that fee with the trip like any other expense, or cover it themselves. See refunds for getting it back.
Keep your login to yourself — anybody who has it can see your trips. Use a real name, because the people on your trips need to recognise you on a list of who’s owed what. You can delete your account at any time from your account page — deleting is not recoverable and it is permanent.
What you put in — expenses, photos, plans — stays yours. You give us permission to store and show it to the people on your trip, which is what makes the app work, and nothing beyond that.
Do not upload anything you do not have the right to, and do not use TallyBob to harass anybody or break the law.
Some things are never allowed, and we will act on them without warning: sexual content involving minors, and intimate images of anybody who did not agree to them being shared. Accounts that upload either lose access immediately, and we report what the law requires us to report.
Beyond that, a trip is a private space between people who invited each other, and we do not go looking through it. If somebody puts something on your trip that should not be there, tell us at support@tallybob.com and we will deal with it. We can close an account that abuses this.
We work hard to keep it correct and running, and we cannot promise it never goes wrong. TallyBob is provided as it is. If something we got wrong cost you money, our responsibility is limited to refunding what you paid us — which for any trip is $9.99. That is a real limit and worth knowing before you rely on it for something large.
Keep your own record of anything that matters. Settling up is between you and the people on your trip.
If these terms change in a way that matters, we will say so in the app rather than quietly editing this page. The date at the top tells you when it last moved.
You can stop using TallyBob and delete your account whenever you like. Deleting is not recoverable and it is permanent — there is no grace period and nothing to restore afterwards.
If you are the admin of a trip that other people are on, you have to hand it to one of them before you can delete your account. Their trip is not yours to end, and they keep everything on it — the expenses, the photos and the settle-up. Whoever you hand it to gets an email telling them the trip is theirs now. You stay on that trip as a traveler, and anything you spent or are owed still counts; you simply cannot sign in any more. A trip nobody else has an account on is deleted with your account.
We can close an account that abuses the service or other people on it, and we will tell you why.
